Michael Jackson’s Black or White

Michael Jackson’s greatest hits album and LP HIStory was released 25 years ago, and I just want to share one of my favorite songs from the greatest hits part. Black or White is almost 30 years old yet still so relevant! And no matter what your opinion of Michael Jackson is, you cannot deny the fact that Jackson was a true lightworker.

Michael Jackson is probably the first musician to ever come into my mental memory. Way back when, Black or White has to be the first thing I saw come from a TV screen. No joke. It is probably the first song I ever heard. Then came ABBA, Ace of Base, Celine Dion…haha. Anyways, I remember the times when premieres of Michael Jackson Music Videos would be worldwide events. Especially You Rock My World. Everyone was waiting for Invincible to drop in the new century. That’s how close he kept the world. I have a feeling Michael Jackson knew Invincible would be the last LP he would record (hence the album title).

Regardless of what the media portrayed him to be, and what is said about him over and over again, set the speculation aside let it go and learn to see the goodness in him and the effort he put to survive in this harsh world. And he did his best to convey the truth of love and life as well the contemporary issues, such as racial injustice, while he was still alive. I believe he is a true gift and I post this to show my appreciation and to spread more love and light.

With forgiveness and compassion, we can see the humanity within Jackson, and we can therefore appreciate and be grateful for what his music and talent brought to this world: Global unity and harmony. It is evident that his music conveys true love, tenderness, and care for the world and human spirit. I grew up with MJ and his story throughout my life as most people have in my generation but his music is what makes him legendary not his story. But he is part of my life story because of how relevant he has been during my lifetime. That’s why I’m sharing this song and video, and why I admit that I do like Michael Jackson. He spoke the truth. Well more sang the truth. And his work will forever be considered one of a kind and a masterpiece.

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, thank you for uplifting this world and raising my vibe whenever I listen to your music and watch your Short Films. I love you! Watch the video and let the lyrics speak for itself. Let the music and video convey the message for peace despite all the chaos going on today in different parts of the world. Gun and land issues, pollution, violence, destruction, global warming, and especially— discrimination based on ethnicity and background. In addition, within the lyrics “thinkin’ about my baby, it don’t matter if your black or white” we can notice the message of acceptance of who we are and love one another regardless of race and culture. And we move towards that love. Wherever we come from, we are all one and all beautiful.

Overall, the message makes clear the imbalance between nature and the human, and Michael conveyed this message in as little as 7 minutes! We must appreciate what we have, but never forget where we come from. Through it all, we are all connected. And we should remember that and take responsibility for the role we play in taking care of this earth, loving ourselves, and loving each other.
I always smile and sing out loud when I watch this MV. I’m always put in a better mood and love it more and more over time as I listen to it. Jump for joy like young Macaulay Culkin! HIP HIP Hooray for World Peace!!

🤗💖🎉
